Q&A with Darrin!

Q: Where did you come up with your business name?
A: It's so confusing, I know! My name is Darrin. Spelt with an "i." It's pronounced [Dahr-rin]. Growing up, everyone would always mispronounce my name, so that's how I came up with the name of my company.

Q: How did you get into screenprinting?
A: When I was studying in art school, I did an elective in screenprinting for a month. I got really into the process and the different outcome of each print.

Q: What is your process?
A: I like to sketch my illustrations in ink. I will then scan that into Adobe Illustrator, clean it up and make a vector image from that. I send off my artwork to a screen maker and they will expose my artwork onto the screen. I will then either print on paper or fabric.

Q: Tell us a little more about yourself
A: I was born in Illinois, grew up in Fresno, studied in San Diego, Los Angeles and England. I live in downtown Los Angeles with my deer chihuahua named Dingleberries and street cat named Boba.
